Research on Current Situation of Domestic Vegetable Oil Production Capacity

With the continuous improvement of people's living standards, the demand for meat, eggs, milk and edible vegetable oil in China has been increasing in recent years, which has led to the rapid development of the domestic vegetable oil pressing industry. Take the development of soybean processing industry as an example. Since China liberalized soybean imports in 1996, foreign capital began to enter in large quantities in 1999. By 2000, there were about 100 oil plants in China that squeezed more than 300 tons of soybeans per day, with a daily crushing capacity of 64000 tons, an average crushing scale of 600 tons per plant, and a soybean crushing capacity of 10 million tons for the first time in the whole year. By the end of 2001, our daily soybean crushing capacity had increased to 10.

By the end of 2001, China's daily soybean squeezing capacity had increased to 107000 tons, reaching 202000 tons by the end of 2004 and 254000 tons by the end of 2005. By the end of 2006, China had more than 170 enterprises squeezing more than 300 tons of soybeans per day, with a daily soybean squeezing capacity of 270000 tons and an average crushing scale of more than 1500 tons per plant. According to the annual operating rate of 300 days, the annual processing capacity of soybean can reach 81 million tons. During the period 2000-2006, our daily soybean crushing capacity increased by 3.2 times. At present, there are 11 large-scale oil plants with a daily processing capacity of 6000 tons in the world, of which 5 are in China, namely, Donghai Grain and Oil (12500 tons/day) in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu, Sea Oil (7500 tons/day) in Fangchenggang, Guangxi, Jinhai Oil (7000 tons/day) in Qinhuangdao, Hebei, Yihai Oil (6000 tons/day) in Lianyungang and Huifu Grain and Oil (6000 tons/day) in Hebei. The groups with the largest oil processing capacity in the country include Yihai Oil, COFCO, 93 Oil, Dalian Huanong and Dalian Hualiang. The soybean processing capacity of these enterprise groups has reached more than 100000 tons per day.
